This is an old site.
Please Disregard.

A Blog (a contraction of the term "web log") is a type of section with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are displayed in reverse-chronological order.

When you create a Blog section within a given Button, the entire page inside the header, footer and menus is available for your content.

However as opposed to traditional Content pages, ten Pages or "Blog Entries" are shown on each physical web page with links to go backwards and forwards in history, ten entries at a time.

Optionally, Blog pages generally use the "Comment" feature of pages, giving the ability for visitors to the site to add comments.  This is an important feature of Blogs as it builds the sense of Community, the ability for your visitors to have a conversation with you and feel like they are a part of your site.

Since only the latest ten entries show on the first page of a Blog, an additional "Entry Link" is available for each Blog Entry.  This link will take you to a page that is dedicated to that specific Blog Entry.  This page serves two purposes.

First, if you needed to send someone a link to a particular Blog Entry, or you wished to post a link to it on another site, the "Entry Link" will serve you the best since it's address is unique to that particular entry.

The Second purpose of that page concerns Comments.  If you have a very popular Blog Entry, you could end up with many, MANY comments.  This would be too much to show on the Blog Page that shows ten Blog Entries at a time, so we don't put them there.  Instead we show how many comments there are along with a link to the specific Blog Entry which would then show all of the comments.

Since ten entries are shown on each physical web page, Blog entries are generally short in nature.  If you intend on regularly publishing longer entries, this could make your Blog pages slow to load.  For these types of pages, you may want to consider Articles.  They work the same as Blogs except that only the first 512 characters of the article are shown with a link to see "More".

To add a Blog Section, go to the button to which you want to add the Blog Section and use the Edit Menu to add a new section.  If your not sure how to add a Section, check out our Sections page for more information.  When creating the section, change the type to Blog and save it by pressing "OK".

You are then given a page editor to add your first Blog Entry of this Section.  Once you save that page you will be taken back to the page from which you started.

Once you have created a Blog Section and your first Blog Entry, and you have the security to edit them, instead of seeing new items in the Edit Menu, you will see a mini edit menu embedded within the page.  This was done so that you could do your Blog Entries "On the Go".  These pages are editable with mobile phones (iPhone, Windows Mobile, Symbian, Blackberry, etc.).  Not all phones can handle the normal edit menu's functionality, so we added the editing menu items directly to the page.

If you want to add Blog Entry, use the "Add Blog Entry" button.  As you can see from the image to the left, you can edit and delete specific Blog entries from here as well.  Don't worry.  If you edit a Blog Entry, the date does not change.  It keeps the original entry date so your are not inconvienced if you need to correct a fact or catch a spelling mistake.

You now have all of the information you need to become a Blogger.  Well almost... you still need to have something to blog about :)
